We were initially introduced to the specific learning outcomes of the module which were predominately to gain knowledge and understanding of technical approaches. An introduction to pattern cutting and seams will be included within the module, which I am looking forward too as, having gone down a textile and art and design pathway before deciding upon a fashion pathway, am particularly looking forward to getting to grips with pattern cutting.
We began straight away, making basic size 10 dress pattern blocks. Using ready made blocks we made our own versions in brown card. It was a useful excersise that allowed us to get a basic understanding of making pattern blocks of our own.
