Size ten pattern block constructed

We made our own size ten dress pattern blocks out of card for future use. Using our equipment we created the pattern blocks with dart holes and grain lines as a basis for us to then refer to when creating garments. It gave a good indication of how to create our own pattern blocks and an insight into how dress patterns are formed. I gained additional knowledge about the importance of a grain line to prevent fraying and how the material needs to be cut. I also learnt other areas of pattern cutting like the difference of the warp(vertical) and the weft(horizontal) and the stretch in the bias (diagonal).
